The first Patron of the Centre was Most Rev. Albert V D’Souza. In 1969, Cardinal Picachy took over. On retirement of Cardinal Picachy, Most Rev. Henry D’Souza took charge in 1980 and continued till 2002. In 1973, Rev. Fr. P.C. Mathew S.J. became the spiritual Advisor of the Centre - a post he held until the year 1987 when he was appointed as the Provincial Superior of Calcutta Jesuits. From the year 2002, His Grace Archbishop Lucas Sirkar has been the Patron of the Centre. From the year 1987, till the fateful day of 6th November 20011, Fr. Joseph Maliyekal was the Guiding Force of the Centre as its Spiritual Advisor. After God called Fr. Maliyekal away, Fr. Kurian Embrayil SJ has been appointed to this post.
