Cultural Activities
Organizing cultural activities is one of the means adopted by the Centre for raising funds for its various services. The first such function was held at St. Xavier’s Auditorium in the year 1960, a “Kathakalakshepam” by Joseph Kaimaparamban. All through the past 55 years, the Centre has held various cultural programs like drama, folk songs and dances by the Calcutta Youth Choir, Ganamela by eminent singers of Kerala like Yesudas, M.G. Sreekumar, Biju Narayanan, ReemyTomy and Afsal, UshaUthup and many others from the film fraternity.
The Centre holds Annual Fete between November and January every year where in various Kerala delicacies are prepared and sold to the visitors/customers; games are conducted and prizes are given to lucky donors. It also brings out a Souvenier each year, in order to generate more funds. This is over and above the generous contributions given by its members and well-wishers.
The Centre organizes “Onam Sadya” for its members in September and
a Christmas get-together in December. It also celebrates its Foundation
Day in August and Annual Day during March-April, every year.
